The Overview of Pisang Peak Climbing
Pisang Peak lies in the Annapurna region with 6091 meters from the sea level. This peak is the natural gift of Nepal. It is very easy for climbing. All climbers could view the Tilicho peak, Annapurna ranges and Gangapurna on the way to the Pisang peak.
You could view the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna ranges and other peaks from the summit. The first summit was in 1955 on behalf of the German group.
Thorong La pass is the highest mountain ever that hikers encounter. The snow falls during the winter in this region. After passing this mountain, all the trekkers move down to Muktinath by just walking.
The way to Pisang peak offers many botanical tress and Yak and Horse pastures in some destinations.
Muktinath is a spiritual place with Hindu and Buddhist monasteries. Many devotees come to this place for the salvation of sin. There are 108 stone taps just beside the temple. This place is very famous for worshipers.

When is the best timing for Pisang peak climbing?
The summer is good for the Pisang peak summit. Besides, sometimes landslide takes place, the route becomes very muddy also mosquitos can bite easily. If you are adventurous, then you can enjoy hiking even in Summer or Winter. If you are hoping for a perfect time for the sake of climbing this peak, then Autumn is the best, relatively in this season weather becomes very clear and dry thus you can see blue sky. Because of a good time, there is a sharp growth of climbers. Usually, the temperature remains modest during this time.
Best Times: March – July, and September to November
Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit (SCAP)/NMA permit
NMA charges nearly 350 USD including VAT for climbing a peak. If you wish you can do in Kathmandu either in Pokhara for Pisang peak climbing permission.
Annapurna Area Conservation charges nearly 30 USD including VAT. And for the SAARC nationalities 5 USD for the entrance.
Trekkers Information Management (TIMS)
Compulsory for international trekkers. TIMS maintains a record of each trekker by the registration. It helps to find out missing trekkers. So; the charge is 30 USD. Register for safety and security.
The meaning of Altitude Sickness
Acute Mountain Sickness which means it is the effect of high elevation in our body. Some part of the body does not function well by the low oxygen while hiking over 2400 higher.
It can occur from 2000 to 3000-5000-6000 meters higher. It happens, the air pressure decreases and then less oxygen remains to the body’ tissues, as a result, the function of the lung or heart do not function well so hikers could face AMS.
As a result, you may feel a headache, nausea, vomiting, appetite, and breathing problems. Please, do not ignore such signs. Instead of healing yourself in a matter of time rather it will be or turn to a worse situation like HAPE or HACE. When you do not care about these symptoms and if you go through these problems then the first of all, you will have to take a rest and after that move down.
However, some hikers acclimatize within a day others may take 2-3 days to recover. if resting does not heal, then you have to move down.

How much money do you have to pay for Guide and Potter?
When hiring a Guide, then you have to pay around $30 USD to $35 USD per day for Island Peak climbing. This amount includes accommodation, food, and insurance. Be sure that Guides do not carry your bags or luggage.
Only potters carry your luggage or bags and they charge per day $25 to $30 USD. They carry 20-25 kg while hiking and they help to carry your bags or luggage in your respective destination on prescribed time. A potter can carry two trekkers bags.
Food, Accommodation for Pisang Peak Climbing
You need to have enough energy so taking 3 times of food is very important. You can have breakfast along with typical Nepali Dhal, Bhat, and Tarkarli depending upon your choice of food.
Tea and coffee
You can have a preference for drinks, like Organic Green Tea, Ginger Tea, Lemon Tea, Coffee and more.
If would like to have lunch, then you could enjoy having a Pizza (Italian), soup items such as Chicken soup or Mushroom and noodles (Chinese). In addition, you can have vegetarian or non-vegetarian items during lunch hours. Even western and continental lunch items.
Hikers can rejoice by drinking natural water since your body becomes dry when walking a lot, so you need to drink plenty of water. You can have hot or cold water.
Resting stay at Tea house and while hiking up beside some guest house. In addition, you could experience different guest houses and tea houses living throughout your trek.
Tips for Pisang Peak Climbing
- Do not take pictures of people without permission.
- It could take a long time to prepare food so order early.
- Get proper ideas about AMS or Altitude sickness.
- You need to take care of your stuff.
- Having more energy is very important so you need to take over 3 times of food once you pay for only for Nepali set you can get 3 times of service.
- Keep Nepali money enough since there are ATMs on this route.
- Come with a few more days of planning, sometimes you may need extra days to acclimatize or to explore more.
- Do not believe in the locals because bad people could be anywhere since not all Nepalese is honest and supportive.
- If you are willing to save money, then you could rent expensive trekking gears and mountain equipment.
