An overview of Tharpu Chuli Peak

Tharpu Chuli peak is one of the easiest peak climbing. It lies in the Annapurna Massif of Nepal in the north. Pokhara city is the way to this peak. This peak has the other name Tent peak 5,500 m.

All climbers encounter the wonderful views of peaks such Annapurna I, (8091m) Annapurna III (7555m), Singu Chuli (6501m), Machhapuchre (6997m), Hinuchuli (6331m) Gangapurna (7455m) and Annapurna South (7219m) from the top of Tharpu Chuli peak.

This peak climbing is very relevant for beginners since it is very easy. First of all, climbers have to trek from Tikhedunga until reaching the summit. The route follows with classic villages, evergreen bamboo, Rhododendron, and rivers.

Require Permission for Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing

Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit (SCAP)/NMA permit

NMA charges nearly 350 USD including VAT for climbing peak. If you wish you can do in Kathmandu either in Pokhara for Tharpu Chuli peak climbing permission. Annapurna Area Conservation charges nearly 30 USD including VAT. And for the SAARC nationalities 5 USD for the entrance.

Trekkers Information Management (TIMS)

Compulsory for international trekkers. TIMS maintains a record of each trekker by the registration. It helps to find out missing trekkers. So; the charge is 30 USD. Register for safety and security.

What is Altitude Sickness?

It can occur from 2000 to 3000-5000-6000 meter higher. It happens, the air pressure decreases and then less oxygen remains to the body’ tissues, as a result, the function of lung or heart do not function well so hikers could face AMS.

Acute Mountain Sickness which means it is the effect of high elevation in our body. Some body part does not function well by the low oxygen while hiking over 2400 higher.

As a result, you may feel a headache, nausea, vomiting, appetite, and breathing problems. Please, do not ignore such signs. Instead of healing yourself in the matter of time rather it will be or turn to a worse situation like HAPE or HACE.
